ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is an at-home self-neutralising peel containing a naturally derived enzyme ingredient: Mucor Miehei extract. The advantage of this ingredient is that unlike aggressive dermatological exfoliant techniques such as Glycolic Acid peels, consumers will achieve performance benefits equivalent to those obtained in a dermatologist’s office without irritation, redness, visible peeling or discomfort. Its key initial benefits are: increased smoothness, reduced dryness and refined texture. After six weeks of twice a week use, the product delivers the following additional benefits to aging skin:
1) Improved firmness
2) Increased clarity
3) Reduction in the appearance of fine lines
4) Improved textural uniformity
5) More even skin tone
6) Moisturised skin

The treatment period for intensive skincare renewing peel is six weeks. It should be used no more than twice a week, either in the morning or in the evening (not both) following cleansing of the face with an ARTISTRY facial cleanser. After morning use, be sure to follow with UVB/UVA broad-spectrum sun protection.

Yes. Use of an intensive product that resurfaces the skin will often leave the skin more sensitive to the sun. Because of this, it is recommended that consumers use a broad-spectrum sunscreen product to protect the skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays. It is not necessary to use a sunscreen after use at night, however, many will feel more comfortable after using the peel with the use of a night cream or lotion, or a soothing cream.

Four times per year (quarterly) is recommended to keep skin in optimal condition. Use the peel for six weeks, then wait six weeks to start the exfoliation programme again.

The INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel product should be stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. It is not necessary to refrigerate the product.

The INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel product has been thoroughly tested on groups of individuals representing all skin types. There was no evidence of an allergy response or extreme skin irritation. However, we recognise that no testing programme can assure that no one will ever develop minor reactions. Since no major clinical irritation was observed in our extensive testing programme, we would expect reactions to be limited to minor tingling sensations or slight stinging or redness lasting for several minutes. Each person’s tolerance for these sensations is different.

INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is similar to other products in the ARTISTRY line that utilise chemical rather than physical exfoliants. INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is an intensive product providing enzymatic exfoliation. Therefore we do not recommend use more than twice a week for six weeks. It is not meant for everyday usage. It is also a rinse-off product and not intended to be left on the face after treatment.

The plan for rollout of the INTENSIVE SKINCARE line is that it will contain many intensive treatment products offering benefits similar to those procedures performed in a dermatologist’s office, addressing visible signs of aging.

INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel has been tested in-package for stability, unopened it has a three-year shelf life. Once opened, its use should be completed within the six-week treatment period. It should be stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. While it is not necessary to refrigerate the product, if exposed to heat, the product may become darker in colour and may lose some effectiveness depending on the time period exposed to heat.

The INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel product is designed to resurface the skin, leaving it smoother and refreshed. It is an intensive product that works quickly. It is not designed to be left on the face but rather should be rinsed off. Best results are seen with twice a week usage, and not on consecutive days.

Use of an intensive exfoliating product that resurfaces the skin will often leave the skin more sensitive to the sun. Therefore, it is recommended that users employ a broad-spectrum sunscreen product after each treatment to protect the skin from the damaging UV rays of the sun. It is not necessary to use a sunscreen after application at night, however, many users will feel more comfortable after the peel with the use of a night cream or lotion.

INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel should not be used in the eye area.

Volunteers with all types of skin were tested in safety and efficacy clinical trials without experiencing the irritation associated with professional peels. But everyone’s skin is different, it is possible some individuals may experience minor redness and/or stinging. If redness persists, it is recommended that you wait additional days between treatments. Discontinue use if persistent redness, burning or stinging occurs.

Best use of INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is after use of a mild ARTISTRY cleanser. Do not use soap prior to use of the peel.

INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is best used after the use of a low pH, mild ARTISTRY cleanser. Soap often has a higher pH, which may limit the effectiveness of the peel.

It is not necessary to use another exfoliation product during the treatment period of the INTENSIVE SKINCARE renewing peel. Use of these products may increase irritation potential. Re-implementation of these products is recommended between two and four weeks after completion of the peel treatment.

ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel was clinically tested on and is suitable for all skin types. Volunteers with all types of skin were tested in safety and efficacy clinical trials without experiencing the irritation associated with professional peels.

ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel was developed for individuals aged 30 years and older, who are currently users of a skin care regimen and who want to prevent and repair targeted signs of aging.

Age is not the determining factor for this product’s use. Younger consumers ages 18 and above with excessive skin roughness may also benefit from the use of this product.

ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel contains Mucor Miehei extract, a proteolytic enzyme. The skin produces various proteolytic enzymes to encourage the normal desquamation process. Mucor Miehei extract has a strong pH dependency and only performs at pH levels below that of the skin. When properly buffered to a pH less than 5, the enzyme becomes effective and skin exfoliation is initiated. Over a short period of time, the skin’s natural pH elevates that of the enzyme, causing exfoliation to cease. INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel contains a liposome that helps repair the moisture barrier after the peel treatment. Although INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is extremely mild to the skin, some consumers may experience dryness after the peel treatment. The use of this liposome helps to reduce dryness and keeps the skin moist after treatment. Carrageenan, extracted from red seaweed, imparts softness and helps moisture retention. INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel also contains NUTRILITE-grown Chia Seed Oil and Tocopheryl Acetate to aid in the conditioning of the skin after the peel treatment.

ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel contains a proteolytic enzyme that primarily works by dissolving the proteinaceous bonds between the dead skin cells at the top surface of our skin. It also helps to increase cell turnover. Alpha hydroxy acids primarily work by increasing cell turnover but the exact mechanism of action is not well understood. Non-acid products like Skin Refinishing Lotion contain Oat Extract to increase skin cell turnover, similar to AHAs. Scrubs work by physical exfoliation that is, direct removal of dead skin cells by physical particles. ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel is an intensive skincare treatment intended for twice-a-week usage for a period of six weeks. It is also a rinse-off product. Products like AHS Plus and Advanced Skin Refinisher are not as intense a treatment for the skin and are leave-on products that can be used daily.

The fragrance is described as an Herbal Citrus Floral. The main top herbal notes are basil and clary sage, with fruit notes such as mandarin orange and grapefruit, middle notes include orange flower, rose and jasmine notes, the bottom notes are a woody musk.

ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel contains only one animal-derived ingredient: Acetyl Glucosamine. This ingredient is a conditioning agent that contributes to the moisturisation of the skin.

The INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel formula does not contain any wheat ingredients. But it does contain an oat derivative, so we would not characterise this product as gluten-free.

After just one application, clinical and consumer testing conducted on ARTISTRY INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel showed significant improvement for the following:

Generally, we do not recommend that any cosmetic product be used after a “bad” sunburn or any treatment that causes extreme inflammation. The product should only be used after inflammation has subsided. For use after a chemical peel or laser treatment, one should consult his/her physician.

Ingredients in INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel have been shown to be safe for use by all women. Safety studies of cosmetics are not conducted on pregnant women. The patient and her doctor should discuss whether or not to use this product.

Efficacy of INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel for use on the eyelid was not evaluated. Do not apply the product near the lash line. If for any reason product enters the eye, it should be rinsed out immediately.

We do not recommend the use of an intense treatment product like Intensive Repair Serum, or exfoliation products like TIME DEFIANCE Skin Refinishing Lotion or ARTISTRY Advanced Self-Acting during the peel treatment period.

Use of products such as TIME DEFIANCE 3D Lifting Serum or TIME DEFIANCE Vitamin C + Wild Yam in combination with the INTENSIVE SKINCARE Renewing Peel has not been clinically tested and everyone’s skin is different.
